Website: Stiftung Kunst und Natur
The Stiftung Kunst und Natur gGmbH was founded in 2012 and is a non-profit cultural foundation in Bavaria, Germany. It was established as a place where art, nature and society can come into dialogue and aims to encourage a more conscious relationship with the environment and society. The foundation hosts public events such as concerts, exhibitions, educational programs and interdisciplinary events.
It also manages a diverse 320ha-landscape of forests, grasslands and wetlands mainly through extensive management. In addition, the site includes two fruit orchards as well as 1-hectare-permaculture garden and a 0.9-hectare potato acre. In recent years the foundation has launched the soil initiative Forum Nantesbuch that promotes soil awareness, interdisciplinary exchange and sustainable soil stewardship.
Personal Mission: The mission of our soil initiative is to raise awareness of soil as a vital living resource and to strengthen responsible soil stewardship and sustainable agriculture across society. We create a platform for interdisciplinary exchange, collaboration, and practical solutions that connect science, land use and wider public as well as promote soil literacy via cultural and artistic pathways.
Project-Specific Mission:
Lead partner for Dissemination, Exploitation and Communication
Foundation‑led initiative promoting soil literacy, interdisciplinary exchange and sustainable soil stewardship into society. It convenes an annual forum, runs a transdisciplinary network of experts and stakeholders, and develops cultural and aesthetic formats that make soil knowledge accessible to diverse audiences and decision makers.
The initiative provides a multiplier network and engagement formats that Root2Fork can activate for co‑creation, dissemination and training. Its forum and working groups offer stakeholder access for the Root2Fork social dimensions and communication
SOIL: Our Invisible Ally is an Interreg Alpine Space project led by the Slovenian Forestry Institute. It´s a three-year project launched in 2024. It promotes sustainable soil management measures across the alpine region by translating expert knowledge and practitioner experience into accessible materials, showcasing case studies, and running workshops for diverse audiences, especially multipliers. The project engages the public, including newcomers to soil topics, and uses art and cultural events to spark curiosity, foster sensory connections, and inspire stewardship.
