The TUM Venture Lab Food / Agro / Biotech (FAB) is one of Europe’s leading incubators supporting agri-, food-, and biotech start-up teams.

FAB fosters interdisciplinary innovations in the life sciences from genetic and biological research to production and processing technologies. We support ideas pertaining to agriculture, food, beverages, nutrition, forestry, biotechnology or applied life sciences.

We provide resources, knowledge, community, and network to help students, researchers, and established startup teams transform their innovative ideas into reality We operate in one of the hottest venture areas, considering the climate-driven challenges in agriculture, forestry, and the impact of nutritional habits on public health.

Mission Statements

Personal Mission: The TUM Venture Lab Food/Agro/Biotech (FAB) mission is to become Europe’s top breeding ground for agricultural, food technological and biotech business start-ups.

Project-Specific Mission: To foster innovation and circularity in msAFSs. We will (i) accelerate existing technologies of science spin-offs, making them market ready, (ii) ensure an efficient partnering between farmers and start-ups (iii) co-develop circularity concepts e.g. algal-based biostimulants and biochar.
